What Is Anime Squadron
Anime Squadron is a Roblox anime gacha tower defense. The developers describe it as a lane battler, while the Roblox marketplace categorizes it as Strategy / Tower Defense, the gameplay feels closest to something like The Battle Cats, with units advancing along a track, layered on top of gacha collection. The core loop is: spend Gems to pull units → roll Traits onto your units → evolve them through fusion quests → deploy your lineup across multiple lanes to hold off waves of enemies. The setting is a collapsing anime multiverse where worlds from different series are crashing into each other, and players must restore order. The game is developed by Komplex Studio (led by Official_Bloonix), which entered early access in August 2025 and officially launched on June 13, 2026, with up to 16 players per session. For a quick start, check out the beginner guide.

Current Top Units
The two highest tiers (SS and S) as agreed by the community in mid-June 2026.
Unit names in this game are deliberately reworked puns on anime character names, with the original inspiration noted in parentheses. The rankings below reflect community consensus and shift with each weekly update; several SS units are not in the gacha pool at all, they're unlocked through story quests, Raids, or evolution. For the full SS-D breakdown and a role-by-role split (DPS / support / tank / economy), see the full tier list.
Core Gameplay Loop
Four phases that tie together the entire progression, follow this order to get up to speed fast.
Spend Gems on the Basic Banner (featured unit rotates hourly) and the Selection Banner (unlocked at Level 10, lets you pin one specific Mythic) to pull units. Keep in mind: the strongest units aren't in the gacha pool, they're unlocked through quests and Raids.
Keep reading TraitsTraitsEach unit can hold one permanent Trait, boosting damage, HP, range, cost, and more. The best, Superior (0.1% chance), is an instant game-changer. There is no lock mechanic, so stop rolling the moment you land something great.
Keep reading EVOEvolutionEvolve units through Full Power forms, fusion quests, and Primal Core materials, the signature example being Goki + Vegata fusing into Gometa. Always roll for a good Trait before you evolve.
Keep reading LaneLane DeploymentUse the in-round currency Yen to deploy units onto lanes and upgrade them between waves, blocking enemies from reaching your base. The current meta favors speed and burst to overwhelm rather than stacking defense.
Keep readingGame Modes
Four core PvE modes, each serving a different role in progression, farming, and building your roster.
The main progression route and your primary income source. Stages come in Normal and Hard (Hard yields more Gems and Gold), and clearing Story is the fastest way to level your account and unlock other modes.
Keep reading SquadronA mid-game mode focused on lineup-building and clear speed, giving a steady stream of Gold. Clearing Ninja Village Squadron Act 4 unlocks the Secret unit Madora.
Keep reading RaidsEnd-game boss battles with massive HP pools, short lanes, and tight time limits, supports multi-player co-op and is a pure DPS check. GT City Raid drops the Secret unit Shanron.
Keep reading InfiniteEndless wave survival for farming, with rewards (various Cubes, Trait Shards, Gems) scaling as floors increase. Daily bonus runs x3; save this mode for after your lineup is solid.
